Roches Noires
Architectural design
Just a short walk from the sea, Roches Noires is a single apartment building that explores the raw elegance of concrete in a tropical setting. The project is anchored by a strong linear wall that defines the site, separating private living spaces from the public realm and setting the tone for the architecture above.
The building’s material language is deliberately honest — smooth concrete frames filled with board-formed walls and full-height glazing that invite light deep into the interiors. These contrasts give the spaces a quiet rhythm and a strong connection to their surroundings.
At the top, a series of concrete pergolas extends the structure toward the sky, softening its outline and filtering light across the upper terraces. From mountain to sea, the building sits comfortably in its landscape — grounded, open, and unmistakably of its place.
