Arthur Sleep

Head Office & Retail Concept Design

The project involves the rehabilitation of a space located in a former factory to house the brand “ Arthur Sleep “ specializing in bespoke shoe design. This site, with its strong industrial identity, boasts outstanding architectural qualities: exposed brick walls, raw concrete, and large workshop-style windows that flood the space with natural light.Currently compartmentalized, the space will be completely reimagined as an open, fluid, and light-filled environment, while preserving its raw aesthetic. Instead of using traditional partitions, the layout will be structured through the installation of independent, freestanding PODs,These modular volumes will define the main functions of the space:office, reception area, meeting room that can also function as a workspace or dining table, retail area, open kitchen, work zone with six micro-stations,restrooms,storage area,workshop/laboratory, etc.Designed as autonomous, self-contained volumes, the PODs are deliberately spaced apart to create interstitial or “negative spaces” that allow the layout to breathe. These in-between zones can be freely inhabited, adding flexibility and vitality to the overall space. Since the PODs do not touch the walls or ceiling, they preserve a clear and unobstructed visual flow throughout the entire environment.Toenhance flexibility, certain areas can be temporarily enclosed using curtains suspended from ceiling-mounted tracks, offering privacy when needed without compromising the overall transparency of the space. The meeting room can therefore be transformed into an office or a dining room for the duration of a VIP evening. The PODs will be constructed using noble and refined materials, intentionally contrasting with the raw, industrial character of the setting. This interplay of textures highlights the importance of each module and accentuates the artisanal expertise at the heart of the brand.
